October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In honor of those at every step of the breast cancer journey, Ms Willful will provide free information and host a virtual fundraiser. With your help, we can have a real impact against breast cancer.
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers to impact women. About 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer at some point. Most women can survive breast cancer if it is found and treated early. National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is our opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of early detection.
Let’s make a difference together!
Breast cancer facts:
- One in eight women (12%) will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime
- Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women
- Men can also get breast cancer
- Mammograms are the single-most important screening in early detective of breast cancer
- About 85% of breast cancers occur in women with no family history of breast cancer
- The most significant risk factors for breast cancer are being a woman and growing older
Read that last one again. Breast cancer is not partial or biased. If you are female and growing older, you are at risk for breast cancer.
