I'm a Warrior

Posted on September 30 2019

I’m Not a Survivor, I’m a Warrior!

You may be a survivor, but you are also a warrior! A fighter. Chemo Ninja. Cancer Veteran.  Not everyone survives, but everyone is a warrior.

Cancer is a disease that will take everything from you.  Or take a big part of you and leave behind a changed life.

Wear your battle scars with both humbleness and joy, knowing that tomorrow is not promised.  To anyone.

A few stories of surviving, fighting, hope.

Angela Duncan is a two-time breast cancer warrior.  Her story is to remind you to trust your gut.  Get a second opinion.  Check your breasts regularly - not just in October.

Alicia Garey talks openly about survivors guilt.  She has written a book about being desperate, terrified, and furious.  She wears her battle scars with humility and triumph.

Penny Rafferty Hamilton is also a two-time breast cancer survivor.  She speaks about learning the new language of a disease and not knowing what was expected of her.  She found information empowering.  She found strength in positive imagery.
